Life doesn't have to be mundane and ordinary. In fact, with a little effort and intention, every moment can be elevated and turned into a romantic experience. Romanticizing your life is not just about finding a partner or planning elaborate dates; it's about cultivating a deep sense of self-love and living purposefully.

What do you understand by romanticizing your life? Or what comes to your mind when you think of romanticizing your life?

When I imagine or close my eyes, I see flowers, good food, dim lighting, maybe self-care, good aroma, a simple light-hearted movie, perhaps a rom-com. But all these are once-a-week or once-a-month things.

However, romanticizing can be done regularly. Let me summarize this in simple terms: What do you expect romantically from your partner daily? Small gestures, caring, understanding your well-being, surprising you with food, spoiling you with love, etc.?


Imagine waking up to a rainy day, feeling disappointed that your plans for an outdoor adventure are now put on hold. Instead of letting frustration take over, you decide to embrace the opportunity for a cozy day indoors. You light some candles, put on your favorite music, and cook something delicious. Soon, you find yourselves smiling and enjoying the weather as the rain patters on the windows.

This example highlights the importance of seizing the moment and finding joy in the everyday. By looking for opportunities to transform ordinary moments into extraordinary memories, we can infuse romance into every aspect of our lives.

TIP 1: MORNING MOTIVATION

Morning is the most important part of the day. It decides how we are going to spend the day. Our mood, our energy, everything depends on how we start our morning. 

I like to have a morning routine. I keep trying different routines as I get bored easily. However, the basic remains the same, maybe the process changes. 

So here is the basic routine that I follow:

Hydrate:
First things first, starting your day with a glass of water can boost your energy levels and set a positive tone. 

Fuel your body:
A healthy breakfast can help you stay energized and focused throughout the morning. 

Get moving:
Putting on a cute workout outfit, even for a short morning exercise routine, can increase your energy and release endorphins, making you feel more motivated. 

Make your bed:
A simple act like making your bed can create a sense of accomplishment and motivate you to start the day off right. 

Limit phone use:
Avoid scrolling through your phone first thing in the morning, as it can negatively impact your mental health and focus. Especially, social media. 

Positive affirmations:
Start your day with positive affirmations, like "I am capable" or "I am grateful," to cultivate an optimistic mindset. 

Inspiring quotes:
Read a motivational quote or message to set a positive tone for the day. 

Set intentions:
Define your goals for the day and visualize yourself achieving them to boost your motivation. 

You can always start your day with journaling, write your gratifications, your goals, affirmations, watching a comedy video, listening podcast/music, etc, something that motivates you, that brings positive energy to you. 


TIP 2: DECLUTTER YOUR SPACE

As a kid, I always enjoyed cleaning my space. Tidy my bed, to declutter my desk. I never felt more satisfied than living in a clean environment. From weekly laundry to monthly organizing my wardrobe. 

You can also start by decluttering and organizing your living space. A tidy and well-organized environment not only promotes a sense of calm but also provides a blank canvas for you to infuse your personal touch. Consider incorporating soft lighting, scented candles, and cozy textures to create a warm and inviting ambiance.

So, as I watched endless aesthetic videos, I not only organised my space but also decorated it, so whenever I am back home, I feel like spending my time sitting, reading, watching, etc., basically to slow down by the end of the day. 

Also, to create a space that reflects your unique style and brings you peace and tranquility. Whether it's a cozy reading nook or a special corner of your garden, having a designated area for relaxation and self-care can bring a sense of romance into your daily life. This space should be a haven where you can escape from the outside world and indulge in moments of serenity.



TIP 3: BUY YOURSELF FLOWERS

I know this is something everyone says, but honestly, telling you it is a good habit, buy yourself flowers, and you will see a sudden change in your mood, your ambience will get more positive and refreshed. Why do we expect our partners to bring us flowers and chocolates to make us feel special? If we can buy ourselves everything else, we can also buy flowers. Bring nature indoors by adding houseplants or fresh flowers to your space. Not only do they add a touch of natural beauty, but they also purify the air and promote a sense of tranquility. Surrounding yourself with elements of nature can instantly uplift your mood and enhance the romantic atmosphere.


TIP 4: CREATE AMBIENCE FOR YOUR ALONE TIME.

By alone time, I mean to spend some time by yourself. It is important to prioritize yourself and have at least an hour or 2 just for you. Plan a solo date over a weekend, cook your favourite food every now and then, switch on some dim lighting and play some melodious tune while cooking, open a bottle of wine, and listen to something which makes your mood pleasant and happy. Light a scented candle during dinner, and watch a light-hearted movie. Maybe after dinner, grab a book before bed. But whatever you do not stress about anything at that point. You just want to be there in the moment and want to have a peaceful time. 

When you spend some time with yourself and give yourself something that makes you happy is the greatest feeling in the world. You will see the change in you in no time. 


TIP 5: DRESS TO IMPRESS YOURSELF

The most important part of our life is how we see ourselves. Back in my childhood, I always used to get ready without knowing how it was positively affecting my mood. Then life happened, I got busy in my career, and became lazy to get ready every day. Suddenly, one day, I realized how different my perception became about myself had become, and I started to scrutinize every aspect of my look. I took the initiative to get ready; you don't have to wear a lot of makeup or fancy clothes, you can always choose to wear simple yet stylish clothes. You have to get out of your pajamas and put on that beautiful dress that is been hanging in your closet for months or years. You have to take the effort to impress yourself. If you are not able to impress yourself when you see yourself in front of the mirror, then you are lacking somewhere in self-love.


As we continue our journey toward romanticizing our lives, it's important to realize that romance can be found not just in grand gestures but in the ordinary moments as well.
